Really interesting M1936 "Musette" bag, named to J.C. Lanz, with strap and modified shoulder pads. Bag appears to be dated 1943 and the maker has been scratched through. Strap is marked R.M.C. 1941. The Soldier's laundry mark is on the strap, inside, and outside the bag flap.  I don't know the provenance, so I won't say this was a paratrooper's bag, but the modified shoulder pads are indicative of that. This would be a great research project! The bag is in overall good condition with: two small holes on the bottom, a worn spot on the top flap, somewhat stiff, slight fading, some rust on hooks, and has storage dirt. The leather shoulder pads are supple and in excellent condition, but whatever the black material on the reverse is starting to deteriorate.
